A United Way of Calgary and Area Community Engagement Event

For many youth and families living in poverty, lunch is a basic need that is often overlooked, and can act as a barrier to youth attending school, or taking part in various activities.

Join us in supporting the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth (USAY), a Calgary based non-profit dedicated to empowering Aboriginal youth aged 12-20. As part of this Day of Caring, volunteers will prepare and package sandwiches to support youth participating in USAY’s programs.

These sandwiches are more than just a meal – they provide nourishment, care and a sense of belonging as they are shared among the group at USAY, helping to support their well-being, focus and growth in a safe and empowering environment.

Registration Details: Due to space restrictions, we ask that no more than 8 employees from one workplace register for this event. We will reach out if additional spots are available. Upon purchasing a ticket, you will be sent a calendar invite with additional check-in details.

In the spirit of our journey to promote reconciliation, we would like to honour the truth of our shared history and acknowledge Treaty 7 territory and the traditional lands of the Blackfoot Confederacy, that includes the Kainai, Siksika, and Piikani First Nations. We acknowledge the traditional lands of the Tsuut'ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda, including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations. We would also like to recognize the Métis people, and the Inuit people who have made their home here in Moh'kins'tsis, also known as Calgary.
