More than half of Canadians are $200 or less away from not being able to meet all of their financial obligations.

Poverty is something that affects us all, whether it’s the individual living in it, or the community who rallies around them. But it’s not something that many can understand.

Join us virtually and participate in Make the Month, an interactive activity that will put you in the shoes of an individual living in poverty, as they navigating day-to-day choices on a limited income. It’s an engaging way to build empathy, spark conversation, and deepens our understanding of how other Calgarians live.

Registration Details: After registering for a free ticket, you will receive a calendar invite with the virtual link to the email you provided! Please note, participants will need their smart phone or other device to participate in this activity.

Elijah BeaverFrom Empathy to Action: Understanding Poverty in Our Community

In the spirit of our journey to promote reconciliation, we would like to honour the truth of our shared history and acknowledge Treaty 7 territory and the traditional lands of the Blackfoot Confederacy, that includes the Kainai, Siksika, and Piikani First Nations. We acknowledge the traditional lands of the Tsuut'ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda, including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations. We would also like to recognize the Métis people, and the Inuit people who have made their home here in Moh'kins'tsis, also known as Calgary.
