Watch: kids’ mental health is #UNIGNORABLE
We do all sorts of things to keep kids’ bodies from getting hurt. We pad and cushion, bandage and brace, prevent and protect. But taking care of their mental health is as important as making sure they have a healthy body—and it should start just as early. Did you know that 70% of adults with mental health issues say their symptoms began in childhood or adolescence, but only 20% of kids that need help with their mental health receive it?
A child’s mental health affects the way they think, feel and act. It also affects the way they grow, develop and move into adulthood. That’s why nurturing their mental health is important—it helps them build resilience for all of life’s little (and big) bumps.
