United Way Launches Action Table Calgary
In 2024, in collaboration with The City of Calgary and Calgary Police Service, United Way was proud to launch Action Table Calgary (ATC). This initiative brings together leaders, organizations, and residents to address complex local challenges and provide swift, coordinated solutions to those in urgent need.
With the expertise of more than 50 agencies, ATC successfully resolved 30 complex cases by July 29th, 2024, offering timely support to individuals and families in crisis. This progress would not have been possible without the collective efforts of our partners and the ongoing support from our community. United, we are creating a better Calgary.
Supporting Student Success
All In for Youth, United Way’s signature initiative to help youth complete high school, continues to make a profound impact in Calgary and surrounding area.
This year, we were delighted to introduce you to Lubna – one of the students whose journey embodies the power of this program. During high school, Lubna‘s family faced eviction and homelessness. Transitioning into Calgary’s expensive rental market presented overwhelming challenges.
Thanks to the support of an All In for Youth Success Coach, Lubna received guidance and financial support to navigate the costs of Advanced Placement Exams. Her success coach found bursaries she could access, which aided to alleviate the financial burden of these courses. In 2024, Lubna graduated as valedictorian of her class and is now attending McMaster University to pursue a career in medicine. She credits All In for Youth for helping her build confidence and emotional resilience, allowing her to build a better life for herself and her family.
Your generosity made Lubna’s success possible—thank you for helping students like her achieve their dreams.
