Giving Tuesday is a global call to generosity. Here in Calgary and area, it’s a moment to look closer and shine a light on the hidden mental, financial and social challenges many families face.
This December 2, on Giving Tuesday, there are more ways than ever to get involved and make an impact with United Way.
1. Your donation supports essential programs across Calgary
A gift to United Way strengthens more than 170 local agencies and helps more than 240,000 people each year access food, housing supports, mental health care and community connections.
2. You can engage in person at Southcentre Mall
From Nov. 25 to Dec. 7, you can step inside an interactive United Way installation at Southcentre Mall that invites you to “open the door” on the hidden realities many Calgarians face. The exhibit features short videos, powerful stats, resources like 211 and a tap-to-donate kiosk for anyone inspired to make a difference. It’s a meaningful, immersive way to learn, reflect and take action this Giving Tuesday. Get more details and directions for where to find us in the mall here.
3. See your impact in action
Our docu-series Hope in Action, hosted by United Way 2025 Campaign Co-Chair Linda Olsen, brings you behind the scenes with local leaders working to support Calgarians every day. Watch real community stories and see what your generosity makes possible.
4. Your gift can go even further
Thanks to the support of local community champions, first-time donations could be matched dollar-for-dollar—doubling the impact of your gift helping reach more people facing urgent needs. Learn more about our match.
