Join us for this webinar featuring Distress Centre Calgary special guest speakers Roxanne Cote, Resource Development Manager and Ashley De Vera Macayan, Youth Program Coordinator, as they discuss the new challenges within the pandemic and the importance of accessible supports and services.
Over the course of this hour, you will gain insight into the life saving work that the Distress Centre provides, as well as how they have adapted their approaches and programming to continue to support our community members during the COVID-19 pandemic. They will also share information about the phone number 211, which is the front door to government and community-based programs and social services. It’s free, confidential and available in 150+ languages, seven days a week. Learn more: www.211.ca
After hearing firsthand about the crucial role that this team plays on the frontlines of pandemic support, United Way will provide information on how to show your appreciation for the volunteers and staff at the Distress Centre. The later portion of the event will include an activity where you can write digital thank you notes to agency frontline workers.
