COVID-19 Community Response Patron (Gifts of $1,000,000+)

Calgary Foundation’s commitment to co-funding the COVID-19 Community Response Fund with $1 million in grants to charities will make a tremendous difference in supporting community agencies that are serving vulnerable populations during this public health crisis. This generous partnership demonstrates The Foundation’s dedication to supporting Calgarians in their time of need, in a concerted effort to build a healthy and vibrant community where everyone belongs. Calgary Foundation is also part of the Community Response Stewardship Group with United Way, and the City of Calgary (including the Calgary Emergency Management Agency) to support in assessing applications for funding via the COVID-19 Community Response Fund.

COVID-19 Community Response Visionary (Gifts of $500,000+)

Mawer Investment Management Ltd. is a privately owned, independent investment firm that strives to “do the right thing” for their clients, employees, and the community. A United Way supporter for over 20 years, Mawer has been raising critical funds for our community through fundraising campaigns and events, and matching all employee contributions. Mawer’s community giving program for the COVID-19 Community Response Fund received an overwhelming response from employees, resulting in a record-breaking fundraising campaign. Thanks to Mawer’s generous contribution, vulnerable people will receive the critical support they need.

COVID-19 Community Response Champion (Gifts of $250,000+)

Shell Canada’s generous gift to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund will provide agencies on the ground with much-needed resources to continue their critical work in this time of need. With their values of fuelling kindness, Shell Canada is ensuring all those impacted by COVID-19, whether it’s the elderly, or people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, or employment disruption will get the support they need to overcome this crisis. By making the well-being of our community a priority, Shell Canada is, yet again, proving their commitment to being a good neighbour to us all.

For more than 35 years, the Calgary Flames Foundation has been supporting initiatives that bring positive change to the lives of Southern Albertans through education, grassroots sports, health, and wellness. The Foundation has once again stepped up to support our local community and their generous gift to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund will provide high school students without access to technology, with laptops to access online learning, and aid in supporting Indigenous serving agencies with emergent needs. By investing much-needed resources into our community during this unprecedented time in our history, the Foundation is showcasing the true generosity of spirit of the Calgary Flames hockey club.

For more than 80 years, Husky has contributed to the social and economic fabric of the communities where it operates. Recognizing that during this global health crisis we all have a part to play, Husky has made a corporate contribution to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund, supporting local efforts to help the most vulnerable members of our city. Additionally, through its employee giving program, HuskyGives, the company matched employee donations 2:1. Thanks to Husky’s generous contribution and commitment, people across our city impacted by COVID-19 are receiving the supports they need during these difficult times.

COVID-19 Community Response Hero (Gifts of $100,000+)

Alberta Blue Cross provides health and wellness plans, programs, and services for the financial protection and well-being of their customers and communities. Their focus is on empowering people to live their best lives. Alberta Blue Cross’s investment in the COVID-19 Community Response Fund supports a coordinated approach, and will be directed mobilizing community agencies to best serve the most vulnerable Albertans.

A supporter of United Way for 30 years, Enbridge has been living its mission of improving lives and building a community that belongs to everyone. Every year, Enbridge’s commitment to our communities is demonstrated in their avid volunteerism and fundraising that helps fuel the quality of life within Calgary and area. When the COVID-19 pandemic reached our city, Enbridge stepped to support the most vulnerable by donating critical funding to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund.

ENMAX’s mission is to power the potential of people, businesses and communities by safely and responsibly providing electricity and energy services. A partner for more than 20 years, ENMAX has continuously demonstrated their commitment to using a collective approach to addressing issues impacting our community. Their generous contribution to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund is another testament to their commitment to responding to critical community needs.

Pembina has been a valued partner for more than 30 years and is one of the largest United Way partners in Calgary. Pembina focuses community investments on organizations that improve access to education, protect or preserve the environment, promote safety, create community space and encourage wellness. Their generous donation to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund builds on what they have already invested back into their communities in 2020.

Repsol’s mission is to be an energy company that is committed to a sustainable world. For 30 years, Repsol has partnered with United Way, and as an investor in the Community Hubs Initiative, Repsol has helped thousands of Calgarians struggling with social isolation. Thanks to generous donations to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund from Repsol, employees, and retirees, they are helping to ensure that everyone in our community is cared for and supported during these times.

Rotary Club of Calgary has committed to help our community by launching the Lunchbucket Fund. Since their meetings are taking place virtually, members have been diverting their lunch dues to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund. Many generous members are also making additional contributions. As founding partners of the Community Hubs Initiative, we are grateful to Rotary Club of Calgary for their continued partnership and support, and all they do to build strong communities across our city.
